The Uniqueness Theorem for the Solutions of Dual Equations of Sturm-Liouville Problems with Singular Points and Turning Points
In this paper, linear second-order differential equations of Sturm-Liouville type having a finite number of singularities and turning points in a finite interval are investigated. First, we obtain the dual equations associated with the Sturm-Liouville equation. Then, we prove the uniqueness theorem for the solutions of dual initial value problems.
متن کاملOn Singularities of Autonomous Implicit Ordinary Differential Equations
Implicit ordinary differential equations ( ) _ = ( ) with ( ) being an matrix depending on are investigated about their singular points, i.e., inconsistent points in the closure of the set of consistent points. Sufficient conditions are given that ensure that around such points, the above differential equation can be diffeomorphically transformed into the normal form 1 _1 = 1, _2 = 0 . . . _ = ...
متن کاملA Normal Form for Implicit Differential Equations near Singular Points
| We consider di erential equations A(x) _ x = g(x), where A is an n n-matrix of C 1 functions and g is C 1 . We investigate the above di erential equation about singular points x 0 that are standard in the sense of Rabier. In particular, the null space of A(x 0 ) is of dimension 1. We show that there is a C 1 -di eomorphism that transforms the above equation about x 0 into x 1 _ x 1 = 1, _ x 2...
متن کاملA Normal Form for Implicit Diierential Equations near Singular Points and Its Application
(1) is considered about impasse points x 0 2 U, i.e., points x 0 beyond which solutions are not continuable. We review a recent result on a normal form about such points and discuss two examples.
متن کاملSimulation of Singular Fourth- Order Partial Differential Equations Using the Fourier Transform Combined With Variational Iteration Method
In this paper, we present a comparative study between the modified variational iteration method (MVIM) and a hybrid of Fourier transform and variational iteration method (FTVIM). The study outlines the efficiencyand convergence of the two methods. The analysis is illustrated by investigating four singular partial differential equations with variable coefficients. The solution of singular partia...
